Updated & Revised South Street Advisory for week of October 24th

PROJECT NEARING COMPLETION :

Repair work by National Grid contractor on the underground vault is completed and South Street is now reopened.

SCHEDULE (WEATHER PERMITTING)

On Monday and Tuesday, October 24 and 25, milling of the street will occur along with raising manhole covers to grade and preparation for asphalt paving.

On Wednesday Thursday, and possibly Friday, tack coating and paving of the street will be undertaken.

Traffic and Parking Restrictions

*During the  earlier part of the week;  Monday- closure of South Street (from GLEN TO ELM ONLY ) due to work to raise the manhole covers.   Otherwise; intermittent alternating one way traffic for the entire length of South Street Monday and Tuesday.

*On Wednesday (weather permitting)  paving will commence and  during paving operations ; the entire length of South Street will be temporary closed to traffic from Broad/New Pruyn to Glen .

*No on street parking (thru the week)  for the entire length of South Street is permitted as milling and paving operations are underway.

Entrance access to the businesses on the north side of South Street (North Country Coffee Cafe , New Way Lunch) is available via entry off of Elm Street into the South Street parking lot.

Entrance access to businesses on the south side of South Street (JP Bruno’s, South Street Floral , Pete’s Diner , Jaeger and Flynn ) is available via entry through the Elm Street parking lot (accessible via Elm or Glen Streets) to the back entrances of the businesses.
